The grimoire
Before & aftercare
A few small rituals around your appointment make a big difference to how smooth — and how calm — your skin feels.
Waxing moon
Before your ritual
- Let it grow. Hair should be about ¼ inch — roughly 2–4 weeks after your last wax or 1–2 weeks after tweezing.
- Pause strong actives. Stop retinol, tretinoin, AHA/BHA peels and scrubs 5 days before.
- No oral isotretinoin. If you’re on (or finished within 6 months) Accutane, please don’t book a wax — ask us about alternatives.
- Mind the sun. Avoid sunburn and self-tan on the area for 48 hours before.
- Come bare. Clean, product-free skin lets the wax grip the hair — not the skin.
- Tell us everything. Sensitivities, allergies, recent treatments: add them to your booking notes.
Waning moon
After your ritual
- Keep it cool. No saunas, steam, hot yoga or intense workouts for 24 hours.
- Hands off. Freshly waxed follicles are open — avoid touching and skip makeup on the area for 12 hours.
- Skip the sun. Use SPF and avoid tanning for 48 hours.
- Soothe. Aloe or a fragrance-free calming balm is perfect. Avoid perfumed products for a day.
- Exfoliate gently. From day three, a soft exfoliation 2–3 times a week keeps ingrowns away.
- Keep the rhythm. Rebook every 3–5 weeks — regular waxing means finer, sparser regrowth.
Redness usually fades within an hour. If irritation lasts beyond 48 hours, please let us know.
